About the Workshop
Theory ends here. In this interactive session, participants take on the role of a SOC analyst responding to two real-world attack scenarios inside NetWitness Network Detection & Response β a full-packet capture platform that treats the network as a forensic black box.
Scenario one: a targeted phishing campaign is bypassing email gateways and landing in employee inboxes. Scenario two: a workstation has been silently compromised through a drive-by exploit and ransomware is spreading across the network. In both cases, the only source of truth is the network traffic β and the challenge is to find the answers inside it.
The session combines live platform demonstration with a challenge-based format: questions are drawn directly from real attack data, and every answer has to be earned from the evidence.
Who This Is For
This session is designed for security practitioners who work hands-on with detection and response β SOC analysts (L1/L2), threat hunters, detection engineers, and security architects who want to experience what full-packet visibility looks like in practice.
It is equally relevant for CISOs and security managers seeking a ground-level understanding of how network forensics closes the gaps that endpoint agents and SIEM rules leave open.
Basic familiarity with network protocols and security concepts is sufficient; experience with SIEM, EDR, or Wireshark is a plus but not required.
